Email
facilities
Each Focus website comes with unlimited
email addresses with your domain name. You might want to set up
a main address (usually info@yourcompany.co.uk), and
set up others for staff (i.e. person@yourcompany.co.uk),
of email addresses for particular functions (i.e. sales@yourname.co.uk).
New customers - setting up your
email facilities
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on the 'Tools'
option on the menu bar and then on the 'Accounts'
option.
3. Click 'Add'
and then 'Mail'
4. Enter your name as you want
it to appear on your emails and then click 'Next'
5. Enter your new email address
(i.e. yourname@yourdomain-name.co.uk) and then
click 'Next'
6. Select 'POP3' from
the drop-down-menu and enter mail.your-domain-name.co.uk
in the first box
7. In the second box either enter
your Internet Service Providers SMTP settings (i.e. smtp.blueyonder.co.uk,
smtp.virgin.co.uk etc) or smtp.your-domain-name.co.uk
if you're using a Focus dial-up account, and then click
'Next'
8. Enter your username (usually
your email address) in the 'Account name' box
and your 'Password' (contact us if you have not yet been given
your password) in the next box, and then click 'Next'
9. On the following screen click
'Finish'
10. You will now see your new email
account in the list
11. Click on your new account to
highlight it, and then click on 'Properties'
12. On the 'General'
tab enter the 'Reply address',(usually the same
as your email address). You may also optionally enter your 'Organisation/business'
name. Then place a tick in the box next to
'Include this account when receiving mail'
13. Now click on the 'Connection'
tab and place a tick in the box next to
'Always connect to this account using', and then, using
the drop-down-arrow, ensure your Internet Service Providers name
appears in the box. Bristol Link if you're using a Focus dial-up
account
14. Click 'Ok' and
then 'Close'
You are now ready to connect to
the Internet and to Send and Receive email.
